Head Office, Factory & Warehouse
Today, Elmira Stove Works manufactures all of its vintage-styled appliances in their own manufacturing facility. All preparation, painting, assembly and final inspection are done here to ensure flawless quality. Over ninety percent of the parts and components used are sourced from North America.
Thirty-Five Years of Excellence
Elmira Stove Works has been crafting vintage-styled appliances since 1975, constantly innovating and improving product performance and quality. In this 1975 photo, the original Elmira wood-burning cookstoves are carefully assembled by hand, just as they are today.
Range Manufacturing: Quality Built In
Antique ranges are built in the area center-left; Northstar ranges on the right. Every range is individually custom-built to the customer’s order. There are hundreds of possibilities available! A small-team approach to manufacturing ensures fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Home on the Range

Don’t let their pretty looks fool you - Elmira’s Antique and Northstar ranges mean serious culinary business. They are built around KitchenAid Proline ovens and readily-available high-end components, ensuring reliability, durability and easy follow-up service.
Antique Line-Up
Ovens, chassis, legs and skirts complete. A line-up of ranges wait for the installation of cooktops in our Antique range assembly area. From here, they’ll move on to have matching doors and upper cabinets installed… then on to final wiring and inspection.
Antique Range – Almost Finished!
Final wiring is completed; then it’s time for rigorous testing. Once the range passes performance testing and thorough visual and UL / CSA inspection, it’s cleaned, waxed, polished and ready for packaging.
It All Starts With a Great Finish!
The state-of-the-art powder coating facility allows us to efficiently produce our signature brilliant, durable finishes on metal parts. Non-metallic parts are color-matched in our automotive-style paint shop, using Dupont automotive finishes.
Attention to Detail
After receiving a total of six coats of Dupont color and clear coat paint, each Northstar fridge door is hand-buffed to a brilliant sheen. How much attention do we pay to detail - a single pair of doors receives about four hours of careful polishing!
Northstar Fridge Assembly
Once the door panels are painted and polished, it’s time to carefully install the handle and logo, and mount the door panel onto the fridge, ready for final inspection and packaging.
Checking Up!
Company President Tom Hendrick is hands-on involved with design, engineering and even manufacturing… constantly looking for better ways to build a better product. Here, he fits a trim rail onto a Fireview cookstove.
Our Showroom
Our showroom features a beautiful array of Antique, Northstar and Fireview (wood-burning) appliances. Here, a Buttercup Yellow Northstar Model 1951 fridge, and Cayenne and Black/Bisque Antique ranges provide the background for a Fireview 1842-G cookstove (note the fire in the firebox).
